This past weekend I checked out The King of The South Tournament at the Mansfield Fieldhouse hosted by Kellen Buffington. This event had some of the top prospects from the class 2021,2022,2023 and 2024. In this article I won’t be highlighting the prospects that scored the most or the one with all the offers, instead I’ll be highlighting the glue guys that did the little things to help their teams win games. Here are the prospects below that made my All-Glue Guy team.
2021 PG Ja’Matthew McGhee 5’11 Texas Legion-
McGee showed why he’s one of the toughest on ball defenders in Texas. He created havoc defensively and made some tough plays on both ends for his team.
2022 SG Davion Sykes 6’4 Dallas Showtyme- Sykes was very intriguing to me this past weekend at the King Of The South. He used his athleticism length and size on defense to make it harder for opposing players to score. Sykes also possesses a pretty jump shot and the ability to attack the rim from the wing. He is currently under the radar in terms of his recruitment, but if he keeps producing like this, don’t be shocked to see multiple college coaches show interest.
2021 F Chandler Dickerson 6’5 Urban DFW
Dickerson is a forward who can score near the cup or on the perimeter. He is a tough prospect who does a multitude of things that benefits to his teams succes.
2022 PF Justin Haire 6’7 Dallas Showtyme Elite 16U
Haire was big all weekend long for Showtyme 16U. The East Texas native played with physicality and a non stop motor which allowed him to grab boards and finish inside the paint on multiple occasions.
2021 PF Jesse Iweze 6’7 BMM Elite
The bouncy hybrid forward exploded off the floor very quickly this past weekend to erase/block shots and snag rebounds. He is an above the rim finisher that runs the floor well in transition and usual capitalizes with authoritative slams.
