Yesterday I highlighted two 2021 guard prospects in the state of Texas who I felt were overlooked in terms of recruitment. Today I will be highlighting two forwards in the 2021 class, 6’8 Stretch four Will Shepherd of Universal Academy/PB Nation and 6’6 SF Niko Smith of Midland/West Texas Force.
Here is a Player Breakdown of both prospects below:
21‘ 6’8 PF Will Shepherd Universal Academy/PB Nation
Shepherd is a skilled four man who is deadly from the outside and if you give him to much space he will bury it. He is also a solid attacker who is comfortable driving from the perimeter to get by defenders. Defensively Shepherd is a tough nosed rebounder who will snatch multiple boards in his area in traffic.
21’ 6’6 SF Niko Smith Midland/West Texas Force
Smith is an athletic wing who has the physical measurements and tools to be a good 2-way player at the next level. He is a good finisher in transition who will explode above the rim for thunderous slams. Smith is also a good penetrator who uses his athletic ability to attack the lane and will occasionally hit open shots when his feet are set.
